Model 119
The Model 119 is a mid-power professional amplifier in the 1955 Carvin lineup, offering increased output and improved tone compared with the smaller student models. This model represents Carvin’s step into more serious performing amplification.
Model 79
The Model 79 is an entry-level Carvin amplifier designed primarily for student steel guitar players and home practice use. Compact and affordable, it delivers clear amplified tone in a small cabinet while maintaining the same electric steel guitar compatibility as larger Carvin amps. It was commonly paired with beginner steel guitar packages in the 1955 catalog.
Model 6666
The Model 6666 is the flagship amplifier highlighted in the 1955 Carvin catalog. Built for maximum power and tonal fullness, it features a distinctive multi-speaker cabinet design intended to produce a larger, richer sound than typical single-speaker amplifiers of the era. Marketed as a premium amplifier for professional musicians, it represents the top end of Carvin’s mid-1950s amplification technology.
Nick Manoloff - Home Study Course
Nick Manoloff was a prominent mandolinist, steel guitar player, and music educator active in the United States during the early-to-mid 20th century. Best known for his influential instructional materials, he helped popularize both Hawaiian steel guitar and mandolin playing through widely distributed home-study courses, method books, and teaching systems. Manoloff operated a large music education organization that trained thousands of students and maintained teaching studios across the country.
