The TRx5118A active subwoofer delivers powerful, controlled low-frequency performance engineered for demanding live sound applications. With output peaks up to 136 dB SPL, it produces deep, articulate bass that is both heard and felt—maintaining clarity and punch even at sustained high levels.
At its core is the TX18-8 long-excursion 18-inch transducer, featuring a massive 4-inch (100mm) voice coil, reinforced suspension, and heavy-duty spider assembly built for continuous high-output operation. Its extended 35 Hz–150 Hz frequency range captures the full weight and energy of modern program material, while the tuned bass reflex design maximizes efficiency and reduces port turbulence under extreme conditions.
Integrated DSP presets allow fast, predictable system optimization without complex tuning. When paired with the TRx5210AN line array, a recommended starting ratio of one subwoofer per two array elements delivers balanced, authoritative low-end performance—scaling confidently up to larger deployments.
For system designers and consultants, EASE modeling files are available, enabling accurate low-frequency prediction, coverage planning, and complete TRx5000 system simulation prior to installation or deployment.
High-output low-frequency performance, integrated DSP optimization, and IP45 weather protection make the TRx5118A built for serious applications.
Outdoor Concerts & Festivals
Engineered for high-output outdoor environments, the TRx5118A delivers deep, authoritative low end with the headroom required for large audiences. Its 136 dB peak capability and efficient bass reflex design ensure impactful performance across open-air venues, while integrated DSP simplifies system alignment for flown or ground-stacked TRx arrays. Built for reliability, it maintains clarity and punch even during extended, high-SPL festival sets. The IP45 weather-resistant construction is critical for outdoor events, protecting internal components from moisture, dust, and changing environmental conditions. This added durability ensures consistent performance in unpredictable weather, reducing risk during festivals, city events, and permanent outdoor installations. Integrated DSP simplifies alignment with TRx arrays, allowing fast setup and reliable low-frequency impact—rain or shine.
Houses of Worship

The result is full, musical bass that supports vocals and instruments while preserving speech intelligibility.
Corporate & Civic Events
For keynote presentations, live entertainment, and multipurpose venues, the TRx5118A delivers tight, articulate bass that adds impact without excessive low-frequency buildup. Its predictable response and selectable DSP settings make it easy to optimize for ballrooms, convention centers, and civic spaces. Scalable deployment ensures the system can be right-sized for both speech-driven events and high-energy program material.
Touring & Rental Systems
Designed for repeatable, high-demand deployments, the TRx5118A combines robust construction with efficient power usage and fast setup. Its long-excursion 18-inch driver maintains performance at sustained output levels, while integrated DSP streamlines system tuning from venue to venue. Compatible transport solutions and scalable configurations make it ideal for regional touring and production companies requiring consistent, reliable low-frequency performance.
Don't take our word for it. Hear what sound professionals are saying about the TRx5000 Series
"I’ve listened to a lot of the newer line array systems, from a variety of brands, and Carvin is definitely among the best that I’ve heard. No missing frequencies and no lack of punch. It seems like some of the other brands over-process the signal, leaving weak spots in the overall sound. No weak spots with the Carvin TRX 5000 Series and super easy to transport and deploy. The outdoor weather rating is a huge plus too. We currently have the TRX SYS4 system and we will add to our inventory to build that to a TRX SYS8 very soon. Our FOH engineers and clients both love the performance and sound of this system. Very competitive performance at a great price point!"
"Carvin's new TRX line array is an amazing and innovative new design. They embraced real world challenges, by addressing outdoor weather concerns while maintaining the tonality of the drivers, keeping them robust and articulate, with no need to panic when the rain comes to your gig! Deployment and versatility for multiple box setups. World class DSP and balanced power per box! The full spectrum of sound flows smoothly from this rig straight out of the box! It truly is plug and play! Did I mention the output? Fully capable of massaging internal body parts, without distortion! This rig is truly about presence and sound pressure! "
