In 1985 Pepsi was in full promotion of their "Choice of a New Generation" slogan. MTV had changed the way people discovered new music with the music video now being mandatory when releasing a new single. So Pepsi followed with a commercial depicting a band rehearsing in a loft. The prop master turned to Carvin Corp to supply the loudspeakers and amplifiers. The shred guitar was recorded by Vinnie Moore and those are his hands in the close up shots. Carvin Amplifiers and Carvin Audio don't recommend using this method to open a soda bottle, but it would be fun to try!
