Hello Carvin! I got my package yesterday and immediately tried it out and just have a little feedback. Yours is definitely quieter, I have less hiss coming through my amps with the WG5, and the sound is awesome. Cheers and rock on Carvin!- Scott
Kudos to Carvin. I've been using the unit a few hours in my shop without a stutter or burp. No tone lost even when used with a pedal board. This product competes against units at a much higher price point. I’m so satisfied I am purchasing a second for my wife. Buy This Product!!! - Peter S.
The FDR60 - Filter Direct Box or DI box (Direct Injection Box) as it is sometimes called is a gig bag essential. Featuring a quarter inch input and balanced XLR outputs, the FDR60 is lightweight, compact, and built to last. It converts your instrument’s line level signal into a balanced XLR signal to send to a mixing board. Need to route your bass to the front of house and your amp at the same time? Simply plug in your bass, connect one output to your bass amp and the other to the mixing board and you’re good to go. It’s also perfect for use with keyboards, synthesizers, and acoustic guitars equipped with piezo pickups.
The FDR60 helps to eliminate ground buzz and hum and keeps your tone strong over long cable runs, ensuring that your performance goes off without a hitch. For added peace of mind, this unit also comes with an input attenuator and a ground lift.

Bernie Hynson Jr "I Own the Carvin DI box…….Simple, Extremely quiet, light weight….and….COST EFFECTIVE!!!! Every guitarist, bassist and keyboard specialist should have AT LEAST one of these little 'BEAUTIES' in your gig wire bag…..for continuous use and for 'EMERGENCIES!!!'”
Rob Julian, CA "The FDR60 is built like a rock, we've been using Carvin gear at our church for years. Our old Carvin direct boxes have been used and abused over the years and still work perfect. We needed to pick up a couple more (for added instruments, we're still using and loving the old ones), and we're going to Carvin to get theirs. This is solid gear that lasts."
Ed Freitas Carson City, NV "I do pro sound and sound for my my own band and these are great for virtually any acoustic instrument, keyboard or any other instrument that sounds better with the DI boost that these offer. I recommend these highly, especially at this sale price range."

-Steve Vai "I just got off stage after using the new pedal for half the show in Calgary. I went back to the amp for the other half just to compare. They are very very close, but my sound man likes the new pedal version better. This is going to make my life a lot easier. Thank you thank you thank you."
-David Fullerton "Great Addition to Guitar Arsenal. Phenomenal!"
Dan M, IATSE Local#2 My search for a pre-amp “drive” pedal may have finally come to an end. I have been playing the guitar for 45+ years, I haven’t played out much since I was a younger man, but still play every day. I have long since rejected the idea that any guitar, amp, or pedal sounds better or worse than any other. I carry this idea into my very long career as a sound engineer, there is no “best” mic, “best line array”, or “best mixing console”. It’s what you do with it that matters. When it comes to your guitar, the same thing applies, if your rig feels good to you, and serves your music, then that’s it! Not that it isn’t fun to keep exploring new things, but you are the only valid judge of the value and usefulness of your instrument. This leads me to my opinion of the Legacy Drive I recently acquired from Carvin, and why it is likely a good tool for others as well as me. This device has an enormous range of control. It can move quite smoothly through the domain of “Pre-amp/drive” pedals from a very clean boost to total high gain. Again the path through these is very smooth making it easy to slide your way through until you come to just the effect you want. In the clean end of the spectrum the pedal seems to open up the guitar, sort of as if it is taking all the load off of the pickups. The foot switch arrangement allows you to instantly bounce around through three gain levels, and bypass. Whatever type of front end sculpting you are looking for, you can achieve it with the VLD1.
